Our Blue Corn Lager has been a summer favorite ever since we mashed in our first bag of New Mexico blue corn. That ingredient makes for a subtly sweet, yet still super clean American-style pilsner that is amazingly refreshing on a blistering hot day. Of course, that also makes the perfect base for a little experimentation. So we decided to take some of that summer heat and capture it in the beer. The addition of fresh habaneros, roasted jalapenos, and ancho chiles brings out a robust pepper flavor that complements the hint of corn chip-like character of the blue corn. With the spiciness dialed down just a bit from the roasting process, we hope this special release will bring just enough heat to leave you wanting more.
